IAM/PP&E Focused on Disposal Development
NASA’s Integrated Enterprise Management Program’s Integrated Asset Management (IAM) Project Property Plant and Equipment (PP&E) Module Project team has been focusing their energies on design and development this summer. With the start of August, the IAM/PP&E team wrapped up Sprint 7 while working hard to further the construction of the Disposal Solution, recently named DSPL. Sprint 8 picked up mid-month and continued the team’s focus on the development of DSPL. The Disposal feature will deliver main capabilities to the IAM/PP&E Project including:
- Interface to GSA (General Services Administration) - estimated 96K records annually
- Image Interface to GSA (currently 18K images annually, may increase 4x to full volume of records sent to GSA)
- Interface from NSMS for OM&S (Operating Materials and Supply) disposal
The implications of these adjustments via the IAM/PP&E Project will mean changes for users who currently use NPDMS (NASA Property Disposal Management System) and will now use DSPL.
The IAM/PP&E team is also using the August time frame to gear up for a much anticipated project face-to-face meeting in Huntsville, Alabama next month. Individuals responsible for carrying out the implementation at all of NASA’s Centers will gather with the Agency Project Team for meetings and workshops designed to improve both implementation and business readiness efforts. This quarterly face-to face is scheduled for September 19-20, 2007.
